Welcome to Treglio
The small town of Treglio covers an area of 4 km ² in a band built on three hills, overlooking the sea. The origins of "Trellius" are linked to the Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere. It became a fief of Lanciano in 1346, who sacked it because they were in conflict with the monks of the Abbey. In 1400 figures as tax land of Lanciano until the end of 1700, remaining still influenced to this day. Through the streets of the village of Treglio is possible to admire a real open air museum, as in the old town, through alleys and corners, buildings and palaces with painted façades. On Saturday and Sunday of the second week of November “BorgoRurale” wine and chestnuts festival recalls all the inhabitants of the surrounding areas, with live music, thousands of chestnuts, wine tasting and local products of Abruzzo.
